Since we entered a brand new year, I thought it would be fun to share the top ten posts of 2017 with my readers. Granted, this blog was only live for three months in 2017. However, I don’t think the timeframe is all that essential.

I hope you enjoy thesen top ten posts and many blessings to you in the new year!

#10 My Eggnog recipe

This post became a fast favorite considering it was published in December.

My kids have been eggnog-lovers for many years. We never fail to purchase it (by the gallon it seems) from November through December, a short (but intense) season for my family members whose motto is “guzzle it while you can.”

This recipe will now be a new tradition for our family. I don’t think I will ever buy store-bought eggnog again (then again never say never right?)

Go to the recipe.

#9 Gray Haired Hotties Double Standard

This blog post was more of a rant (albeit a polite one) than anything. There is a double standard for men and women as they age. Men have much more leeway with their appearance while women are expected (and encouraged) to look young at all cost. And, indeed there is a cost which for many women is rather high.

A passionate post to be sure.

#8 Going Gray

Another “gray hair” post. Apparently, this subject struck a chord with many readers. Quite a few lovely ladies reached out to me willing to share their stories. I do intend to publish more such testimonies from these brave and beautiful women’s whose stories never fail to inspire me.

#7 My Happiness Project Commandents

The idea of writing down my commandments was not my own, rather the concept came from the book The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.

Nevertheless, I had great fun pondering and gathering my personal commandments. I hope you enjoy this post.

#6 Brainstorming for My Happiness

This post was one of my very first blog entries.

I only had about a week to come up with a game plan for my Happiness Project. I took this brainstorming pretty seriously and spent quite a bit of time taking copious notes.

#5 My Views on Diets

This post was a reprint from a previous blog. I still feel the same way today as I did when I first wrote it.

#4 Human Kindness

Right after writing a post on random acts of kindness, I saw a video about human kindness on Facebook. While watching the video, I was incited to spread more examples of human kindness around. This blog post was my way to combat negativity in the media and the internet.

#3 My Happiness Project Themes

After a few days of brainstorming, I narrowed down my Happiness Project themes.

A small victory for sure!

#2 137 Free Newborn Hat Patterns

I first started making newborn hats in February. I had a grandbaby due in March and I wanted a cute hat for the newest member of our family: an apple hat.

Subsequently, I made a pumpkin hat for my best friend’s baby due in November.

I did not stop there and made a few hats for another grandbaby due in April.

My oldest daughter is a budding professional photographer, so I made her newborn hat props. Phew!

This post is the result of all my internet queries for FREE patterns.
